Lego city undercover police cars9/10/2023 An early cut scene plain didn’t have a voice track, and most cut scenes had jaggy, inconsistent shading. I was surprised to suddenly feel the Switch's HD Rumble kick in for 20 minutes after hours of playing, then disappear forever. Big effects like water jets or explosions dropped the framerate noticeably. (Two of the crashes couldn't deter me from booting immediately back into the fun, while the other forced me to notice the sun rising.) Sound effects didn't always load. “The software closed unexpectedly” three times and softlocked in menus twice. While I enjoyed the game enough to power through some major technical and gameplay flaws, others may not. The game does chug a bit with two players, but the added fun is worth it. Some of my favorite moments were seeing cars drive by that were obviously attacked by my co-op pal and slyly hunting and running him down in my own car. Players can do their own things in opposite sides of the massive city or work together to plow through story mode. This game shouldn't have ever been released without it. New in this release is a two-player co-op mode. I am 12 at heart, so your mileage may vary. Whether McCain is partnered with cops from a ‘70s TV show or waist-deep undercover in a (pretty offensive) Chinese gang, almost every joke lands. Again, cycling through the eight costumes is tiring, and McCain’s smug little shrug doesn’t help. If McCain isn't wearing the correct disguise, he just shrugs at the camera instead of letting the player immediately switch. Puzzles essentially require players to use a handful of abilities in succession. Each guides you through a handful of rooms with collectibles and crappy puzzles scattered throughout. The levels will be familiar to LEGO fans. Super bricks are worth 1,000 or 10,000 bricks, while a palm tree is worth like three. I learned quickly to save as many bricks as possible and not waste them on non-story super builds. Driving on the sidewalk picks up a decent number of bricks, too, but too many objects in the world aren’t made of LEGO, damaging your car and ending your combo. Without many story abilities, I had to break every LEGO tree, table, or bench I could find, and then touch each fallen brick. Early in the game, I spent a few hours grinding regular bricks and looking for super bricks to super build a boat to get to the third level. Super bricks are almost required to complete super builds to progress the story. I would’ve liked for disguises to unlock new abilities instead of piling on new disguises. Players can cycle through disguises instantly with L and R, but after unlocking all eight, cycling becomes cumbersome. McCain goes undercover to infiltrate LEGO City's gangs, giving McCain access to eight different disguises, each with unique abilities. The traditional LEGO gameplay (and humor) compliments the old-school cop movie satire well. While the story isn’t terribly long, I hated plowing through it just to fully explore the city. Frustratingly, most collectibles are locked behind a disguise or ability. Almost every city block hides a collectable, including cars, characters, and super bricks. LEGO City, even four years after its debut, is impressively dense. The story of this former Wii U exclusive, which is now available for Switch, clips through 15 locations pretty quickly, but I got lost exploring often. Rigid pond liner9/10/2023 A koi that starts out 2 inches long may only need 100 gallons of water, but it will double in size within a few years of steady feeding. Consider how fish grow and multiply over the years, along with plant and weed growth. Fish and Plant Growthĭon’t size your pond around the initial number of plants and fish you plan to add in the beginning. Recreational ponds are often laid out by total surface area, so there’s enough space for gathering speed and making wide turns with jet-skis, boats, and other water sports equipment. For decorative ponds, let the plants or fish you desire guide your total volume and depth. If you’re going to use it as a source of irrigation water for fields or greenhouses, calculate how much water you need on a daily basis, and compare it to the monthly rainfall rates to determine a proper volume. Start with a list of your preferred uses to narrow down the finished size of the pond. Whether you’re measuring the surface area of your future pond in square feet or acres, the same kind of liner will work effectively. You can build any size, shape, depth, and layout you like when using a flexible liner like AquaArmor. So, most pond owners will need flexible liners instead. Ponds with a three to four-hundred-gallon capacity are barely large enough for a pair of koi and some plants. Some custom fiberglass liners have been cast to hold a few thousand gallons, but the shipping costs and special equipment required for handling make it less than ideal. It’s rare to find a rigid liner that can accommodate more than a few hundred gallons, because they become too heavy and difficult to transport at that point. The majority of preformed rigid liners top out with a maximum volume of anywhere from 40 to 400 gallons. Even for the tiniest ponds, of just a few dozen gallons, flexible pond liners make more sense than rigid preformed ones. Installing a pond that’s only a few hundred gallons, greatly limits your options for use and increases maintenance and filtration requirements to keep the water clear. It’s possible to order custom fiberglass liners, that are fabricated much larger than the standard retail designs, but this isn’t a very practical option for lining a pond. Thanks to their one-piece design, these preformed liners are only available in a limited size range. A rigid pond liner does more than just limit your options for depth. Lake thunderbird state park office9/10/2023 It had its own restaurant, the Clear Bay Cafe, until during the late spring rains in May and June 2015, Lake Thunderbird flooded and the restaurant was so badly damaged that it closed permanently. The park has 447 primitive campsites and unfurnished one-room lake huts as well as RV provisions. In addition to water activities the park offers hunting, horse rental and boarding, equestrian trails, hiking, mountain biking, nature trails, a nature center, and an archery range. The 6,000 acre (24 km²) lake is the centerpiece of Lake Thunderbird State Park. Main article: Lake Thunderbird State Park The water temperature was 59.5 degrees, the wind was 17-20 mph, gusts from 25-30 mph.įish species stocked at the lake include large-mouth bass, crappie, sunfish, channel catfish, white bass, and saugeye. Long distance swim: On Aplocal swimmer Piers Hale swam the length of the lake, covering a distance of 16,800 yards in 6 hours and 10 minutes. Some 'winter swimmers' even swim throughout the colder months. Regular weekly organized open water swimming events are organized by the Triathlon Club of Oklahoma City in partnership with the Lake Thunderbird Boathouse from the end of April through to the end of September each year. Little Sandy is protected by a buoy-line about 50 yards from the shore that prevents boat access, Zoom Beach has a designated swimming area with buoys indicating 'no boats' allowed. There are a number of specified swimming beaches at Lake Thunderbird, including Zoom Beach and Little Sandy. The Boathouse Organization in cooperation with the Lake Thunderbird Education Foundation make possible several events throughout the year, including sailing lessons, sailing camps for children, an annual fishing derby for developmentally disabled children, sanctioned sailboat races, and fun regattas. The lake has two marinas and a boathouse that are operated and maintained by the Lake Thunderbird Boathouse volunteer organization. Lake Thunderbird is a venue for boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The Bureau owns the dam, which is operated by the local Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District. The earthen dam has a height of 144 feet and impounds 171,400 acre-feet of water. The dam and lake were completed in 1965 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation. Oklahoma State Highway 9 was re-routed in 1963 from present-day Alameda Street to its current location, south of the lake. A feasibility study in 1954 led to a plan report in May 1961, and construction began on Norman Dam in 1962. In 1953 the issue of water supply was raised among a council of local governments consisting of Norman, Midwest City, Del City, Moore and Tinker Air Force Base, and it was forecast that by the 1970s and 1980s the cities would be requiring all available water to meet municipal demand. The Little River valley was the subject of several Army United States Army Corps of Engineers studies in 19 for flood control. Many locals commonly refer to the lake as "Lake Dirtybird" due to the very murky lake water. The lake is named for the Native American legend of the Thunderbird, a supernatural bird of power and strength. In addition to being a source for drinking water, Lake Thunderbird's secondary uses include numerous recreational activities. It is formed by an earthfill embankment ( dam) 7,300 feet (2,200 m) long and up to 144 feet (44 m) high on the Little River. The lake was constructed between 19 for the purpose of providing municipal water to the nearby communities of Del City, Midwest City and Norman. Lake Thunderbird is a reservoir located in Norman, Oklahoma. An array of hiking, mountain biking and nature trails are also available in Lake Thunderbird State Park. Negative Coggins papers are required, and no on-site stables are available. The trails, which are open Wednesday through Sunday, cover four miles and feature 12 obstacles. A total of ten picnic shelters for groups and eight family shelters (Little Axe campground only) are available for reservation through the park office.īoth the Lake Thunderbird Nature Center and equestrian trails are located in the Clear Bay area. Lake Thunderbird State Park also features playgrounds, picnic tables and an archery range. Accommodations include over 200 RV sites with 30 full hook-up sites, restroom facilities and primitive campsites. The park features two marinas (Calypso Cove Marina and Little River Marina), nine boat ramps and two swim beaches. Lake Thunderbird State Park offers a variety of water activities and recreation. The Spotted Scat (Green Scat) and Red Scat (or Ruby Scat) are both readily available to tropical fish keeping enthusiasts however the price of the red version is usually much higher than that of the more common green variety. For this reason, they have never been bred in captivity. Like Salmon, Eel, and Trout, the fry will swim to freshwater where they grow and then return to a more brackish or salt water environment. Spotted Scats normally spawn in saltwater reefs. Occasional feedings of shrimp, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, or bloodworms will keep their diet balanced. They live in coastal muddy areas, including estuaries, mangroves, harbours, and the lower courses of rivers. They are more herbivorous than many other brackish water species and need a good amount of vegetable matter such as algae, dried or fresh seaweed, blanched spinach or lettuce, zucchini or cucumber slices, and frozen peas. In an aquarium environment they will eat almost anything put into their tank. In the wild, Spotted Scats feed on worms, insects, crustaceans, and plant matter. Weekly tank maintenance with 20 to 30% water changes are also required. As they mature, they require additional salt added to their water until a marine salinity is achieved.īecause Spotted Scats are sloppy eaters and extremely sensitive to nitrites, they need a good biological filtration system with plenty of water movement and swimming space to thrive. The addition of 2 to 3 teaspoons of marine salt per gallon of tank water will initially keep Spotted Scats healthy and bring out their colors. Plants can be added to their tank but will be eaten as the fish grow. They need a fine gravel or sand substrate with driftwood branches or roots for them to hide among. Skat is played with 3 players, using 32 cards from a French-suited deck or German-suited deck. It is considered to be the national card game in Germany, it is also popular in parts of Poland, and it is also played in Denmark, Switzerland and Austria. To begin with, juvenile Spotted Scats need a tank of at least 60 gallons when they can be kept in freshwater, however, as they grow, they should be gradually transitioned to brackish and eventually salt water to keep them in top condition. Skat, also known as Skaat in Dutch, is a trick-taking card game with origin in Germany. They will usually not bother other fish unless they are small enough to be considered on their menu.

Robert radi umuc9/10/2023 They tied him up and duct taped his mouth shut and left him alone in a shed overnight. Cut to Radio’s first interaction with the football team. Roughly speaking that is saying children are 2 to 3 times more likely to be bullied if they have a disability. Those are the numbers in the United States of America but they are echoed across the world. That is significantly more than the amount of 1 in 5 to 1 in 7 of those who are not disabled. Nearly 62% of disabled children and young people report being bullied once a week or more. Children with disabilities are easier targets and more frequently bullied then those without. Of all the stereotypes Radio plays into, the bullying of the disabled is the most reoccurring and spotlighted one. Here is the first time of many in this movie where we see bullying of the disabled. Out the window the driver exclaims “get out of the way dummy”. Three minutes into the movie, Radio runs across the street by himself and almost gets hit by a car. However if this movie wanted to have a larger positive societal impact, it would have been less general and generic in respect to playing into the stereotypes of a mentally disabled person. I’m not saying that these features cannot be the case. His teeth are deformed because he is missing some and a few are crooked and chipped. He is super shy, does not speak much, and cannot formulate coherent sentences. His physical appearance is “abnormal” with awkward facial expressions and he always just seems to look lost or unfocused. When we first get introduced to Kennedy’s character the stereotypes are evident. Very early on we see this film playing into the stigmas of how a mentally disabled person would act, react, and look. In Radios case, some of his treatment was nothing but the same. This was a huge part of the culture in the 1970’s South. Taking place in Anderson, South Carolina in 1976, those faced with racial and disability discrimination were fighting for fair treatment and rights. This will be indicative of how Radio should be treated but how he is not by most, especially at the beginning of this film. In one of the scenes a landscape and bright shiny beautiful skyline over a beautiful horizon is shown. In the opening scenes they give the viewer a clue for what’s in store for in respect to how a young, black, and mentally challenged person will be perceived. Not only are these thing very important, but thirteen years later the heavy dense societal problems that occur in this movie are still present and occurring today. While this can help shed light, it is also very problematic because it might not actually be factual. The employment of stereotypes and emotional tactics are playing into exactly how most of society portrays the disabled community and in specific, the mentally challenged. In some ways Kennedy’s character representation is effective because it sheds light on how poorly the disabled are portrayed, indirectly or not. While this is effective for drawing the viewer in and making them feel good it really stops the film from having a larger scale societal impact. Inspired by a true story Radio does a great job of pulling on the audience’s heartstrings and capturing the emotional side of the viewer. The film then follows Radio’s life and times of becoming a vital part of the football team and integrating into society. Later he walked by practice and a football flew his way, he kept it and befriended head coach Harold Jones. He has an old radio in which he uses to listens to all of the Friday night football games. Radio had always loved football and their communities’ high school team. One day minding his own business Radio was pushing along his shopping cart full of belongings and came across the high school football team. In Radio a young black disabled male is treated poorly by the police and his peers because of his disability and in turn is blamed for his treatment. Directed by Mike Tollin, Radio is a movie about a young man named James Robert “Radio” Kennedy. Most of these people are labeled as having a mental illness and therefore are being blamed for their own deaths. About half of all people killed by police are disabled. Trim in vlc9/10/2023 Solution: along with losslesscut specified in the answer below, another solution is the Quick Look function. I am working with files that are usually 2-3 GB and therefore try to stay away from online services as much as possible (hence why I don't use cloud convert for mov to mp4). I am asking the community if there is a simple, Quicktime-like video trimmer for mac that exports in MP4 instead of MOV. I after researching, I could not find one app that trims as easily as Windows Video Player. However, it's slow to export and about as slow as the Quicktime method. Method 3: iMovie - this is my go-to method for splicing clips together and complex trimming (removing segments in the middle). One downside is that I cant tweak the start point once I start recording, I cant see ahead and if it goes too far ill have to trim it a second time, and there are pauses at the beginning and end. Method 2: VLC - It's clunky, but faster than Quicktime and better suited to my needs. Then delete the original mp4 and the mov, and I've finally got the trimmed mp4. Import this MOV into Premiere Rush (which takes a long time to launch and is slow), tell premiere to export to mp4, and wait a minute. Method 1: Quicktime - Open the MP4 video in Quicktime, trim it using an ios-like interface, and save the video as a MOV (no option to overwrite or to save as MP4). It will save as mp4 and I can overwrite the video by selecting the original video before saving (giving the new video the same name). On Windows, I open the photo, click edit, drag the bars to where I would like to cut, and I save. So I have a simple task that I do a lot: trimming a video's head and tail off.
